DV360 vs Amazon DSP vs StackAdapt: how to choose a DSP

Published August 19, 2026

Once you decide you need programmatic buying beyond the standard ad platforms, the next question is which DSP. Spec sheets won't help you: every serious DSP does audiences, RTB, deals and reporting. What actually differs is whose data you can activate, which inventory relationships come with the platform, and how it fits your team's capacity.

Want to put this into practice?

SeatNMD gives you DV360 access, supply and flexible operation.

Let's talk →

The honest comparison

DSP Its unfair advantage Strongest fit
DV360 YouTube, Google audiences, broadest exchange + deal ecosystem Full-funnel operations wanting one console for everything, details here
Amazon DSP Amazon shopper and purchase data Brands selling on Amazon or endemic to retail
StackAdapt Agile UI, native + CTV focus, strong service Mid-size teams that value speed of execution
illumin Journey-based planning canvas Advertisers organizing buys around consumer paths

The questions that decide it

  1. Which data moves your business? If Google audiences and YouTube matter, DV360. If Amazon purchase behavior matters, Amazon DSP. Data beats features.
  2. Where does your audience actually spend time? Match the DSP whose inventory and channel strengths overlap your plan — especially for CTV and DOOH, where supply access differs a lot.
  3. Who operates it? A DSP without a trained team burns budget. Decide first whether you'll operate in-house or delegate — that constraint often matters more than the platform.
  4. What are the commercial terms? Minimums, platform fees and data costs vary; the sticker CPM never tells the whole story. See what DV360 really costs.

Multi-DSP is not a failure state

Mature programmatic operations often run two or more DSPs deliberately: DV360 as the backbone, Amazon DSP for retail campaigns, an agile DSP for specific tactics. The problems to manage are frequency overlap and reporting fragmentation — solvable with clean channel splits per platform.

Where SeatNMD fits

SeatNMD is DSP-agnostic technology at scale: our core is DV360 seat access, and we also operate Amazon DSP, StackAdapt and illumin — plus social platforms — under one operation. That means you choose platforms by merit, not by which contracts you happen to have.
